Amberly Kamp

December 23, 1988 — January 22, 2026

Amberly Renee Kamp, 37, of Burleson, Texas, was born on December 23, 1988, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Russell and Mary Kamp. She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 22, 2026. She now resides in her heavenly home, surrounded by the family members she loved who had gone before her.

Amberly grew up in Springtown, Texas, in the home where she was raised alongside her sister, Olivia Kamp. At just 17 years old, she sadly experienced the loss of her mother in an automobile accident. In the years that followed, her father, Russell, married Michelle Chase, and together with Michelle's children, Jaydin and Maddie, their families blended into one.

From the very beginning, Amberly embodied strength and resilience. Born with serious heart conditions that required life-saving surgery with a low survival rate, she never allowed her diagnosis to define her. With encouragement from her father, she thrived in athletics and formed lifelong friendships at Camp John Marc, a special camp for children with heart conditions.

While attending Springtown High School, Amberly proudly served as the school mascot for the Porcupines. After graduation, she attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, where she pursued nursing and built lasting friendships. During summers, she worked in the medical office at Sky Ranch, gaining valuable experience while serving others with compassion.

In her final year of college, Amberly met the love of her life, Kyle Cross. The two fell deeply in love, married, and soon began building a life together. After earning her nursing degree, Amberly worked at Texas Health and later at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Never one to stop growing, she later pursued a passion for acting, performing in several stage productions and appearing in the film Carter High.

Her love for education eventually led her back to the classroom. Amberly earned her teaching certification from Weatherford College and began teaching English at Cleburne High School before transitioning to a role as a Nursing Instructor in the Career and Technical Education program. During this time, she welcomed her first son, Eli. Despite a challenging pregnancy, she persevered with her signature strength and later welcomed her second son, Ezekiel.

While teaching, Amberly continued her education and earned a Master's degree in Nursing Education from Tarleton State University. She served as an adjunct nursing professor, pouring her heart into preparing future nurses. One of her proudest achievements came when she joined the specialty heart clinic at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, caring for children facing the very challenges she herself had overcome.

During her time at Cook Children's, Amberly became pregnant with twin boys, Malachi and Jude. The pregnancy was complicated by Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, requiring life-saving laser ablation surgery in Houston. After being born prematurely and spending months in the NICU, the twins fought bravely, with Amberly faithfully by their side every step of the way.

In the summer of 2025, Amberly made the decision to become a stay-at-home mother to her four boys, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Even while dedicating herself fully to her family, she continued pursuing her passion for helping others and returned to school at Tarleton Fort Worth to work toward becoming a therapist, a journey she was partway through at the time of her passing.

Guided by her faith and a heart for serving others, Amberly found her greatest joy in her family. She dedicated her life to loving and raising her sons, and treasured the adventures she shared with Kyle, especially their travels to Hawaii, a place she held close to her heart and hoped to retire to one day

Amberly's love and memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother whose compassion and strength touched countless lives. A teacher and nurse by heart, she now lives on as an angel, remembered for the love she gave, the lives she shaped, and the family she cherished so deeply.

Amberly was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Kamp; her grandmother, Renee Pitts; her grandfathers, Bill Kamp and Don Pitts, along with their wives, Rhonda Kamp and Jan Pitts; and her great-grandmother, Mathilde Kamp.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kyle; her cherished sons, Eli, Zeke, and twins Jude and Malachi, all of Burleson; her father, Russell Kamp, and his wife, Michelle; her sister, Olivia Kamp; her stepsister and stepbrother Maddie and Jaydin Chase of Springtown; her grandmother, Elizabeth Mignon Underhill of Crowley; her uncle, Mark Kamp of Joshua; her cousins, Sarah Johnson and Marilyn Kamp; and many other beloved family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a fund benefiting Amberly's husband and sons to assist with ongoing and future needs. Please contact the family for more details.
